COAG provides to its members a full range of professional services, including:

 

  • Legislative advocacy at the state level
  • Facilitation of communication, cooperation and coordination among the state associations of each group of Constitutional Officers                 
      • Council of Probate Court Judges
      • Superior Court Clerks' Association
      • Georgia Association of Tax Officials
      • Georgia Sheriffs’ Association

 

  • Promotion of cooperation at the local level between Constitutional Officers and county governments
  • Continuing education and training
  • Promotion of maintaining high professional standards and performing ethical, efficient service to taxpayers and citizens
  • Maintenance of Association web site for dissemination of essential information to members
  • Seeks to provide guidance and direction relative to certain legal matters which may arise for our members

 

 COAG also delivers, on behalf of its members, key messages to the general public, including:

 

  • Constitutional Officers are identified by the Georgia Constitution as a distinct class of elected official
  • Constitutional Officers are public servants, stewards of public funds and protectors of the public good
  • Constitutional Officers, in the performance of their duties, generate funds for county governments and disburse all funds in compliance with Georgia laws or court orders
  • Constitutional Officers and their staffs are continually trained to perform their duties
  • Constitutional Officers have a responsibility to address issues that may impact their ability to perform their duties and to serve as advocates for their customers
  • Constitutional Officers help their community grow stronger by offering a scholarship to two high school seniors from Georgia who will be continuing their education in a career related to Government or Law Enforcement. You may learn more about our scholarships by following this link.
